大した御馳走なんだのに

一椀の飯さえ思うように喰えぬ人々が見たら

おおめまいしてしまいそうな

食物の山山

近所の豚がこの滅多に人間さえ食べないものを

うんと腹一杯たべてコロコロに肥っている

豚が肥えて肉屋に並べられても

それが何とか西洋料理支那料理になっても

豚の食う程のものすら喰えぬ人間に

なんでそれを一口食べられようか

もったいないことである

貧乏な患者に附添う老爺は

自分の患者のたべないものを

こっそりかくしておく

そしてあとで

自分がそれを喰べる

一日四十五銭の附添食費を浮ばせるために

だが、若しこれが、病院の誰かに発見されたら

何といって叱られるか

何といっておどかされるか

恐怖に戦おののき食べる老爺は毎日下痢をやっている。
