勢いきほひ猛たけき鼓翼はばたきの一搏ひとうちに碎くだき裂くべきか、

かの無慈悲なる湖水の厚氷あつごほり、

飛び去りえざりける羽影はかげの透きて見ゆるその厚氷を。

この時、白鳥は過ぎし日をおもひめぐらしぬ。

さしも榮はえ多かりしわが世のなれる果はての身は、

今こゝを脱のがれむ術すべも無し、まことの命いのちある天上のことわざを

歌はざりし咎とがめか、實みのりなき冬の日にも愁うれへは照りしかど。

かつて、みそらの榮はえを忘ばうじたる科とがによりて、

永く負されたる白妙しろたへの苦悶くもんより白鳥の

頸くびは脱のがれつべし、地、その翼はねを放はなたじ。

徒いたづらにその清き光をこゝに託たくしたる影ばかりの身よ、

已やむなくて、白眼はくがんに世を見下げたる冷ひやき夢の中なかに住ぢゆうして、

益やうも無き流竄るざんの日に白鳥はたゞ侮蔑の衣きぬを纏まとふ。
