古唐津というものの良さは、日本陶器として古瀬戸、古備前、古萩、古伊賀、古信楽等の類品と共にいずれを姉とし、いずれを妹とすべくもないまでに、著しく他に優れた良さと日本趣味に富む野趣を存する。

古唐津は最初全く朝鮮の手法になっているが、漸を逐って、日本固有の美形を具えて、一種の体をかまえて来る。随って、底力を欠く朝鮮陶から救われて、力強き作風と変化し、純然たる日本精神を発揚すると共に、典雅な情趣を帯び来って、まことに心憎いまでに人の心に迫って来るものがある。（昭和二十八年）
