夕方六時半の汽車で東京へ帰る中戸川を送る。彼は一昨日の晩大阪へ行くつもりで寝台券まで用意してゐたのに、僕が引き止めてゐるうちに行くのが厭になつて折角旅支度で出かけて来たのに引き返したのだ。気の毒な気がした。今日は家の留守を預つてゐる僕につきあつて終日三人とも家でゴロ／＼〱した。家は節子と僕だけだつたので、僕は可笑しい程よく働いた。だから酒もあまり回らなかつた。酒には疲れてゐたので丁度よかつたかも知れない。中戸川を送つて帰ると叔父と従兄弟が来てゐた。叔父の昔の話を聞きながら十二時過ぎまで飲む。いつ寝たか知らなかつた。
