        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">――魚のことおアイヌわ「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-605-662">ㇷ゚</g>」chiep と言い、また詰めて「ちェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-707-764">ㇷ゚</g>」chep と言う。』</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-789-1121">バチラアさんの辞書にわ、そぉ書いてあり、金田一先生の著書にも、そぉ書いてある。学者も世間の人も、一般に、そぉ信じている。私もアイヌ語お学び始めた頃わ、そぉ信じていた。ところが、ある時、シラオイの一老人わ私にこぉ言った。</seg></p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">――「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-1139-1196">ㇷ゚</g>」と「ちェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-1211-1268">ㇷ゚</g>」とわ、ちがう。「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-1301-1358">ㇷ゚</g>」と言えば一般の魚のことで、「ちェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-1409-1466">ㇷ゚</g>」と言うのわ鮭に限る名だ。』</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">そぉ言われてみれば、なるほど、シラオイばかりでなく、ホロベツでも、ムロランでも、魚の方わ「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-1654-1711">ㇷ゚</g>」と発音し、鮭の方わ「ちェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-1750-1807">ㇷ゚</g>」と発音して、厳重に使い分けている。この使い分けわ、老人になるほど、やかましいよぉである。こぉゆう使い分けわ、鮭お「カむィチェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-1996-2053">ㇷ゚</g>」kamuy-chep〔神・魚〕と言い、或いわ「志ぺ」shipe ＜ shi-ipe〔真・魚〕と称するのと同様、この魚お尊重して別格に扱おぉとする心理から生まれたのであろぉ、でわこの魚だけ特に尊重して別格に扱おぉとする心理わ、一体どこから生れたのであろぉか。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">魚お意味する「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-2424-2481">ㇷ゚</g>」の語源わ、chi-e-p で、「我らが・食う・物」の義である。魚わまた「イペ」とも言った。だから、鰻お「たンネ・イペ」〔長い・魚〕と言い、太刀魚お「イぬンペ・イペ」〔炉ぶち・魚〕と言い、鱒お「サきペ」sak-ipe〔夏・魚〕と言い、鮭お「チュきぺ」chuk-ipe〔秋・魚〕と言う。この「イペ」もまた、語原わ「食物」の義である。このよぉに、「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-2957-3014">ㇷ゚</g>」と言い、「イペ」と言い、本来食物お意味した語が、後にわ魚の名称になっているとゆう事実わ、きわめて<hi rend="bouten 丸傍点 right" source="#source-3161-3206"><seg source="#source-3161-3170">しさ的</seg></hi>である。それわ、アイヌに魚お主食とした時代のあったことお、物語るものである。ここで、魚お主食としたと言っても、あらゆる魚お主食としたとゆう意味でわない。ある特定の魚お主食としたと考えるべきである。でわ、どぉゆう魚お主食としたかとゆうと、名称の起源から考えて、それわ鮭である。鮭を「神魚」と称し、「真魚」と称するのわ、やはり、この魚お主食と考えた時代のあったことお、物語るものであり、そこから、この魚お特別に尊重して別格にとり扱おぉとする心理も、生れたと見えられるのである。最初の漁わ、たぶん川に起ったのであり、最初の漁獲の主なる対象わ、おそらく鮭だったのであろぉ。アイヌわ、川に鮭の遡らぬ年お、饑饉と観じたが、そぉゆう心理も、そぉした時代お背景に置いて考える時にだけ、始めて充分に理解されるのである。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">昔、川にわ、文字通り鮭が満ち溢れていた。叙事詩の中で、「下方の群わ、川底の石がこすり、上方の群わ、天日がこがす」と形容しているのも、決して誇張でわなかった。そぉゆう時代にわ、比較的単純な漁具と漁法、――例えば、鉤でひっかけて棒で叩き殺す、と言ったよぉな、――そぉゆう簡単な方法で、多量にこれらの魚お漁獲することができた。従って、その時代のアイヌわ、主としてこれらの漁獲物で、冬季の穴居生活お賄った。そこで、彼らわ鮭おさして、「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-4906-4963">ㇷ゚</g>」すなわち「我らの食う物」とか、「イペ」すなわち「食物」とか、呼んだのである。然るに、その後漁具と漁法に進歩があり、漁場も川から沼や海に拡張され、漁獲の対象たる魚の種類も次第に多くなり、しかもそれら種々の魚がすべて「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-5293-5350">ㇷ゚</g>」或いわ「イペ」と呼ばれるに及んで、それらのものと区別するために、最初の「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-5467-5524">ㇷ゚</g>」や「イペ」であった鮭お、特別の名で呼ぶ必要が生じた。そこで、これお、「本来の食物」「真の食物」とゆう意味で「志ぺ」と名づけたり、「カむィ・チェプ」すなわち「神・魚」と呼んだり、「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-5800-5857">ㇷ゚</g>」と「ちェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-5872-5929">ㇷ゚</g>」とで区別しよぉとしたりしたものと考えられるのである。</p>

          <head n="2" source="#source-6035-6143"><seg source="#source-6056-6113">二　動物の名づけ方に見られる二つの立場</seg></head>
        </div>

        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">以上の如く、鮭のことお、「志ぺ」とも、「カむィ・チェプ」とも、言うのであるが、この二つわ、実わ、異なる立場から名づけられた名称である。前者わ、漁撈人としての立場から、鮭お生活の資料として観じているのであり、後者わ、宗教人としての立場から、鮭お神と観じて崇拝の対象としているのである。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">同じ様な立場の二重性が、獣類の命名にも見られる。アイヌわ獣類お、「チらマンテプ」chi-ramante-p〔我らが・狩りとる・物〕とか、「チこィキプ」chi-koyki-p〔我らが・獲る・物〕とか言う。狐お「チろンヌプ」と今わ称しているが、語原わ「チ・ろンヌ・プ」すなわち「我らが・多量に殺す・物」の義で、もとわキツネばかりでなく、エゾタヌキや、エゾテンや、エゾイタチや、カワウソや、シマリスや、イルカなどおさす名称だった。獣類の内、狩猟の対象として特に重要であった、クマ・シカ・ムジナお、古くわ「ゆ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-78" source="#source-7280-7322">ㇰ</g>」yuk と称したらしいが、この語原わたぶん「イ・ウ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-78" source="#source-7392-7434">ㇰ</g>」i-uk〔物お・獲る〕で、もと「獲物」の義だったと思われる。チシマでわアザラシお「イそ」と言い、カラフトでわクマお「イそ」と言うが、この語なども本来わ「獲物」の義である。これらの語に於てわ、いずれも、狩猟人としての立場から、獣類を観じているのである。然るに、一方でわ、アイヌわ、総べての獣に神お観じ、例えば熊お「キむン・カムィ」〔山の神〕と呼び、狼お「うォオセ・カムィ」〔ウォオと吠える・神〕と呼び、狐お「ケま・コ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-8050-8092">ㇱ</g><seg source="#source-8092-8101">ネ・ク</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-92" source="#source-8101-8143">ㇽ</g>」〔足の・軽い・お方〕と呼び、鯱お「レぷン・カムィ」〔沖の・神〕と呼んで、崇拝の対象としていることわ周知の通りである。またその「カむィ」〔神〕とゆう語も、単独で言う時、北海道でわクマおさすが、カラフトの東海岸でわアザラシおさし、西海岸でわトドをさすのである。</p>

          <head n="2" source="#source-8555-8645"><seg source="#source-8576-8615">三　アイヌに於ける神の観念</seg></head>
        </div>
      </div>

        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-8649-9191">この様に、アイヌに於ける動物――魚類でも獣類でも――の名づけ方お仔細に観る時、我々わ、そこに、二つの異なる立場お看取することができる。一つわ生活者――漁撈人乃至わ狩猟人――としての立場であり、他の一つわ宗教人としての立場である。この二つの立場わ、明らかに相矛盾する。鮭や熊が神であるならば、その皮お剥いで衣料とし、その肉を刻んで食料とするのわ、何故であるか。</seg></p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-9191-9820">この疑問わ、一方の立場がより古く、他方の立場がその後の発達と考えることによって解決する。古い時代のアイヌの心お支配していたのわ、恐らく漁撈者乃至わ狩猟者としての立場であって、それによれば魚類も獣類も単に衣食の料にすぎなかったと思われる。然るに、近代のアイヌの心お支配しているのわ、これと全く異なる立場である。それわ宗教人としての立場であって、その立場から観る時わ、一切の魚類、一切の獣類わ、もはや単なる動物でわない。</seg></p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">――アイヌの思想でわ、熊も狼も狐も鹿も、海馬も海豹も、鳥も魚も神である。それのみならず一本一本の草や木も、苟くもその生活に有用なものである限り皆神である』と金田一先生わ書いて居られる（『北の人』）。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">――熊も鮭も神である』。一応わ、そぉ言ってもいい。けれども、厳密に言えば、これわ充分に正しい言い方でわない。――熊や鮭が神ならば、それお殺して、皮を剥いで衣料とし、肉お刻んで食料とするのわ、何故であるか』。そぉゆう疑問が、今一度、誰の胸にも解け難い謎として残る筈である。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-10532-10823">実わ、熊や鮭が直ちに神なのでわなく、神がこれらの動物の姿お一時的に権りるのである。神々わ、その本国に於てわ、人間と同じ姿で、人間と全く同様の生活お営んでいるのであるが、人間の国土に用事があつて</seg><note type="sic" source="#source-10823-10856">「あつて」はママ</note>出て来る時に限って、それぞれの動物の姿おした肉体を権りて来るのである。神々が人間の国土え出かける時にわ、家の壁際の衣桁から、各自に特有な扮装（「ハよ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-78" source="#source-11078-11120">ㇰ</g>ペ」）――熊神の如き獣神ならばそれに特有な獣衣（「る<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-11198-11240">ㇱ</g>」、鮭神や鷲神の如き魚鳥神ならばそれぞれに特有な魚鳥衣（う<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-92" source="#source-11327-11369">ㇽ</g>」）――お取り下ろして身に着けて来るのである。その様にして出かけるのが、人間の目にわ、それぞれ熊だの鮭だの鷲だのの姿に映ずるのである。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-11572-11827">すなわち知る、我々が現実に見る動植物の形態わ、あれわ神々が人間の国土に出て来る時に限って取る権化の姿――仮の肉体――なのである。この肉体わ、神が人間に持って来る土産――</seg><hi rend="bouten 丸傍点 right" source="#source-11827-11872"><seg source="#source-11827-11836">神ずと</seg></hi><seg source="#source-11872-12240">と考えられている。アイヌが他村え行く時にわ決して手ぶらでわ行かないよぉに、神々も人間の村え手ぶらでわ来ないのである。熊や鮭の体わ、アイヌの考えによれば、神々から頂いたお土産なのであるから、その皮お剥いで食うのわ、むしろ神意に副う所以なのである。</seg></p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-12240-12575">以上わ、宗教人としてのアイヌの考え方――信仰なのである。この信仰の背後にわ、これらの魚類や獣類お生活の資料として欠くことのできなかった、生活人――漁撈人乃至狩猟人――としての、アイヌの古い姿が、仄かに動いているのである。</seg></p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">アイヌに於ける神の観念わ、結局この生活人としての立場と宗教人としての立場との、巧妙な調和の上に成立しているのである。そして、我々が当面の問題としている「志ぺ」及び「カムィ・チェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-12842-12899">ㇷ゚</g>」なる名称わ、それお具体的に示している、重要な一つの例と見ることができるのである。</p>
      </div>

        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-13120-13323">以上わ、鮭の一般的な名称である。鮭にわ、以上の他に種々の観点から、種々の特称が附せられている。次に、それらお一通り見て行こぉと思う。</seg></p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">先ず、取れる時期によって名が附いている。鮭わ秋に取れ始めるので、これお「ちュッ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-78" source="#source-13443-13485">ㇰ</g><seg source="#source-13485-13488">・</seg><app type="base-text-variant" source="#source-13551-13659"><lem><seg source="#source-13488-13494">チェ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-13494-13551">ㇷ゚</g></lem><rdg type="base-text"><seg source="#source-13644-13653">チュプ</seg></rdg></app>」chuk-chep〔秋・魚〕と呼ぶ地方がある。カラフトのタライカでわ、そぉ呼ぶが、カラフトの他の地方でわ、発音がくずれて「ちュ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-85" source="#source-13833-13875">ㇷ</g><seg source="#source-13875-13884">・チェ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-86" source="#source-13884-13926">ㇸ</g>」chux-chex と言っている。北海道でわ、まだそぉ言っている地方お知らないが、金田一先生わその名おあげて居られる（『探訪随筆』）。シラオイで、そぉゆう名称がないかと訊いたら――アキヤジわ秋とれるにきまったもん、だからわざわざ「秋の魚」とわ言わないよ』と答えた老人があった。よってこの地方でわ、そぉゆう名称の使われていないことが分る。しかし、この地方でわ、それと同じ意味の、「チュきぺ」chuk-ipe〔秋・魚〕とゆう語が存在する。この語わ、鱒お意味する「サキペ」sak-ipe〔夏・魚〕お対象的に意識して附けられた名称である。尚、晩冬に川え入ってくる鮭お「マた・チェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-14734-14791">ㇷ゚</g>」〔冬・魚〕と称する。この鮭わ、川に入って来ても、体色の変らないのが特徴である。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">また、とれる場所によって、例えば海にいるものわ、「ア<g ref="#gaiji-1-5-93" source="#source-14994-15042">ツ゚</g><seg source="#source-15042-15057">ヨルンチェ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-15057-15114">ㇷ゚</g>」atuy-or-un-chep〔海の中・にいる・魚〕、川に入ったものわ、「ペとルンチェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-15216-15273">ㇷ゚</g>」pet-or-un-chep〔川の・中・にいる・魚〕と称する。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-15343-15918">鮭わ、海の中に居る間わ、体色が銀鱗でピカピカ光っている。それが川え入ると、婚姻色を呈して、すべて黒色に変じてしまう。漁夫わ前者お、シロッケと呼び、後者おブナッケと呼んでいる。体色のことお、毛色などと言うので、シロッケわ白い毛色、ブナッケわブナノキの毛色の意味であることが分る。鮭の中にわ、海に居る内にブナッケになるものがある。これについて、ホロベツの一老人がこうゆう意見を吐いた。</seg></p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)"><seg source="#source-15918-16341">――アキヤジわ真水お覗くと毛色が変ると言うが、俺わ違うと思う。その証拠に、大謀網に乗ったものに、ブナッケがたくさんある。シロッケの卵にわ未熟なものが多いが、ブナッケには未熟なものわ無い。鼻曲りわブナッケに限る。海で既に鼻曲りがある。成熟して来ると、毛色変って来て、鼻も曲ってくる。</seg><hi rend="bouten 白丸傍点 right" source="#source-16341-16449"><seg source="#source-16341-16380">男わ元来鼻の曲る傾向がある</seg></hi>。』</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">シロッケのことお、アイヌ語でわ「へるラ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-89" source="#source-16517-16559">ㇺ</g>」heru-ram〔光る・鱗〕と言い、また一層丁寧に「へれル<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-16633-16675">ㇱ</g><seg source="#source-16675-16681">チェ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-16681-16738">ㇷ゚</g>」herer-us-chep〔ピカピカ光っている・魚〕とも言う。ブナッケになることお、「ぺてチ」pet-e-chi〔「川・で・煮える」、これお「川に染まる」と訳したアイヌも居た〕言い、ブナッケそのものおも、そぉ呼ぶ。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">雄魚お「ちゃ」cha と言い、雌魚お「お<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-80" source="#source-17075-17117">ㇲ</g>」「お<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-17126-17168">ㇱ</g>」os と言う。漁夫の和人方言でわ、前者おカノと言い、後者おメス又はメシと言う。カノの大きいのお特に「志チャ」shi-cha〔大・雄魚〕、小さいのお「もチャ」mo -cha〔小・雄魚〕と称する。それに対して、雌魚の大小に関してわ、別に特称わなく、普通に「ポろ　オ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-17527-17569">ㇱ</g>」〔大きい・雌魚〕「ぽン　オ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-17611-17653">ㇱ</g>」〔小さい・雌魚〕と説明的に呼んでいる。ここにも、男尊女卑の思想が露頭お見せている。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">漁期中に、並外れて小さな鮭が取れることがある。そぉゆうのわ、「イなゥコチェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-17895-17952">ㇷ゚</g>」inawkohep<note type="sic" source="#source-17964-17997">「inawkohep」はママ</note> ＞ inaw-kot-chep ＞ inaw-kor-cep〔木幣お・もつ・魚〕と言って、雌魚にかかわらず、何本でも、削花お附けて、吊しておく。これわ、熊祭の時、熊に弁当お持たせると言って、熊の、顎の下に入れてやったりする。逆に、並外れて大きな、アイヌ表現お借りれば「タンヌ・パ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-78" source="#source-18359-18401">ㇰ</g><seg source="#source-18401-18431">ノ・アン・ポロ・チェ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-18431-18488">ㇷ゚</g>」〔海豚・ほども・ある・大きな・魚〕が取れることもある。こぉゆうのわ「志チェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-18602-18659">ㇷ゚</g>」shi-chep〔真・魚〕と称し、これも「削花お附けて」吊しておき、上客があった場合の御馳走にする。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">鮭が川お遡上ることお、「へめ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-80" source="#source-18843-18885">ㇲ</g>」又わ「へめ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-18903-18945">ㇱ</g>パ」〔登る〕と称する。鮭が川に登るのわ、勿論産卵のためである。産卵場――いわゆるホリ――お「イちャン」と称する。ホリお掘ることわ「イちャン・カ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-90" source="#source-19158-19200">ㇻ</g>」ichan-kar〔産卵場お・作る〕と言い、産卵することお「イちャン・コ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-94" source="#source-19293-19335">ㇿ</g>」ichan-kor〔産卵場お・もつ〕と言う。ここで、諸大家の慣例に従って、産卵場と訳したものわ、実わアイヌの気持から言えば、――従ってまた鮭の立場に立てば、それわ堂々たる産殿なのである。従って、「イちャン・カ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-90" source="#source-19632-19674">ㇻ</g>」とゆう言葉も、「産殿お・建造する」と訳す時、一番彼らの気持にぴったりするのである。ホリお掘りに来る雄魚お「イく<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-79" source="#source-19842-19884">ㇱ</g><seg source="#source-19884-19887">ぺ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-5-93" source="#source-19887-19935">ツ゚</g><seg source="#source-19935-19941">イェ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-19941-19998">ㇷ゚</g>」ikuspe-tuye-p〔柱お・伐る・者〕と言い、雌魚お「もセ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-20071-20128">ㇷ゚</g>」mose-p〔草を刈る・者〕と言うが、それわ、夫婦協力して産殿お建設すると観ての名称であることわ言うまでもない。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">産卵後の鮭、――いわゆるホッチャリわ、「オ・いシル・チェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-20376-20433">ㇷ゚</g>」〔尾の・擦れた・魚〕、或いわ「おンネ・チェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-20499-20556">ㇷ゚</g>」〔老いた・魚〕と称し、その魚お特に「チぽ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-92" source="#source-20619-20661">ㇽ</g><seg source="#source-20661-20667">・サ</seg><g ref="#gaiji-1-6-78" source="#source-20667-20709">ㇰ</g>」chipor-sak〔腹子お・欠く〕と称する。「オいシルチェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-20782-20839">ㇷ゚</g>」わ、語義通り、尾がすりきれて、丁度薪の燃えさしみたいになっているので、次の様な謎々になっている。</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">――岸の穴の下に燃えさしの薪が揺れているの何あに？』</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">――ホッチャリ（老魚）。』</p>
        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">鮭の子お「志ケナ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-89" source="#source-21142-21184">ㇺ</g>ポ」と言い、まだ卵おぶら下げている仔魚お「チぽ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-92" source="#source-21253-21295">ㇽ</g>・セ・チェッポ」chipor-se-cheppo〔卵お・負った・小魚〕と言い、また「ぱッカィ・チェッポ」pakkay-cheppo〔子お背負った・小魚〕とも言う。</p>

        <p style="text-indent: 1em" rend="first-line-indent(1)">はじめに述べた通り、アイヌわ魚のことお、「チえ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-21683-21740">ㇷ゚</g>」またわ「ちェ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-21761-21818">ㇷ゚</g>」と言う。そしてそれわ本来鮭のことであった。和人わこれお「チップ」などと訛る。学者の中にさえ、そぉ書く人がある。例えば「カバチップ」（姫鱒）だとか、「タンネチップ」（鰻）だとか。</p>
        <p>「チ<g ref="#gaiji-1-6-88" source="#source-22093-22150">ㇷ゚</g>」chip と言えばアイヌ語では舟のことである。いかにアイヌでも舟だけは食わなかった！　舟を喰ったり砂利お喰ったりしたのわ、資本主義はなやかなりし頃の日本人である。</p>
