陽の光りが、庭先の鉢のところまでとゞくようになりました。なみ／＼〱といれた水の面へ、かあいらしい金めだかが、四つ頭をならべて、せわしそうに鰭ひれをうごかしながら、光りを吸おうとしています。もっと大きいのも沢山いたが、冬を越す間にこれだけとなりました。

いま、芽ぐんでいる睡蓮が、やがて鉢いっぱいに葉をのばして、黄色な花を咲くころ、その間を泳ぎまわり、卵をつけることだろうと思うと、何となく、この色の鮮かなめだかの将来を、輝やかしく思うのでした。
