新年句会には失敬しました、あれほど堅く約束していた事ですから、私自身は必ず出席するつもりでしたけれど、好事魔多しとやらで、飛んでもない邪魔が這入って、ああいうぐうたらを仕出来しました、何とも彼とも言訳の申上様もありません、ただただ恐縮の外ありません、新年早〻ぐうたらの発揮なんぞは自分で自分に愛想が尽きます、といったところで、ぐうたらは何処まで行ってもぐうたら、何時になってもぐうたらで、それは私の皮膚の色が黒いのとおなじく、私の性であります、私自身さえ何うする事も出来ません、有体に白状しますれば私は我と我が身を持ち倦んでいるのです、丁度、気の弱い母親が駄々ッ児の独り息子を持て余していますように、
