此の集收むるところの作品の過半は今日までに發表したる余の作品中最も厭ふべく忌むべきものと自みづからおもへるところのものにしていづれは昨日の事の悔まれぬはなきが中にもかゝる作品を出いだせし事は就中余の不快とするところなり。今改めて之を市に出すは若輩にして心動き易き自をして再びはかゝる悔なからしめんが爲め自を責むる訓戒の一助となさんとするに過ぎず。淺薄なる皮肉に安價なる慰安を求めてしかも自を宜しと思へりし昨日の己れを鞭たん事は余をして苦痛と歡喜とを相まじへたる一種の快感を味はしむ。

乍末余は再びかゝる低級なる作品を出す事なきを確く信じて疑はざる事を附記す。（大正四年二月四日）
