想思樹の葉のねむたげにうなだれ、

かすかなるうめきをやする。

椰子の並木を縫ひて、

灯火ともしびは紅き花と見まがう。

その時我が耳に訪づれし悲歌の哀さよ。

小暗き森の奥に、

時々もれくる鬱憂うつゆうの月影つきかげ。

木の葉は眠りより醒めて、

あやしき夜色やしよくに顫ふるへ出す。

忽ち響く恐ろしき獣の声！

よろづのものは皆醒めはてぬ。

声かれて歯白ろき、獣と思へば、

吾はたゞ恐怖の為めに伏して在るのみ！

白き墓たちならぶ国！

まへには荒磯ありその潮騒しおさい、………

絶えず訪づれ、

うしろには歓楽の歌きこえて、

また墓石を濡す、

哭泣の哀れも湧く。

匂ひよき酒を椰子の実に盛り、

互に口くちをすぼめて飲む時の
